All
FREEVIEW viewers require a Re-tune from time to time to keep up with the
latest channel changes and additions made on the Freeview platform.
New
channels are launched on Freeview from time to time along with other updates
to the service. So it pays to retune your digital box every couple of
months to make sure you are up to date. Some digital boxes automatically
retune but most have to be retuned manually. The process is straightforward
but varies slightly between boxes from different manufacturers.
Step
1
Press menu on your box’s remote control.
Step
2
Now select set-up, installation, update or similar option. If you’re
asked for a password the default code is 1234 or 0000.
Step
3
Now select automatic retune (this could also be called channel search,
rescan or store channels) and save the channels that are found.
If
you are still encountering problems such as lost channels you may need
to clear the memory of your digital box and retune again to find all the
channels. Just follow these simple steps:
Step
1
Remove the aerial from the equipment and leave unplugged.
Step
2
Go to the menu and select retune or rescan. It’ll take a few minutes,
but when it’s done, it should say ‘no channels found’.
Step
3
Disconnect the equipment from the mains power supply and leave it un-plugged
for 30 seconds.
Step
4
Re-connect both the aerial and the mains power supply and switch the equipment
back on.
Step
5
Go to menu again, select retune to find the channels - follow the guide
at the top of this page.
